Kavourotripes Beach Chalkidiki(Portokali beach)
A hidden place in paradise you can describe Kavourotripes Beach Chalkidiki, Greece. This unknown beach is located at east side of Sithonia , the second peninsula of Chalkidiki, very close to the village Sarti at Macedonia North Greece.
This is not a single beach. It is a long rocky coastline on the east side of Sithonia, interrupted by small enclaves of well hidden sandy beaches thus creating an astonishing natural environment especially when explored by boat.
Access is dificult from the road as there are no signs and you may only climb down to the sea on foot. There are some anti-fire zones which you may follow by car but at some point you will have to leave your vehicle behind.
The place has a lot of free campers living on tents in the woods or on the beach. It is actually the last stronghold of free camping in Sithonia which once was famous for this activity.
Kavourotrypes are famous as a remote and not well-known place. It is said to be a hidden paradise. Nevertheless you should give emphasis on the word “famous”. This means not so “not well-known” anymore. Expect to find a lot of people enjoying the turquoise water and the white rocks, especially during high season. However, the place is magnificent one way or another. And it is not so crowded as some other popular beaches in Sithonia like the nearby Armenistis or Platanitsi.
